This month, AOL has teamed up with the UN Foundation, a longstanding partner, to promote and support their Girl Up campaign. Girl Up gives American girls the opportunity to channel their energy and compassion to raise awareness and funds for programs of the United Nations that help some of the world’s hardest-to-reach adolescent girls.
Today, on August 10th, AOL has donated our mail sign-in page (a highly coveted advertising placement) to support Girl Up’s goal to end child marriage. Each day more than 25,000 adolescent girls in developing countries are married against their will. AOL and UN Foundation have asked our followers to stand up against this injustice and sign a pledge to help end child marriage.
